Antioch bank pairs loans with charities

ANTIOCH -- An employee-owned bank based in Antioch is offering a unique home equity loan that benefits the borrower and the community.

Dubbed "There's No Place Like Home," First National Bank-Employee Owned has launched the campaign to offer 10-year home equity loans one point below the prime rate. But more significantly, under the program, the bank will donate $1 for every dollar borrowed up to $100 per loan to one of two charities in the customer's name.

The charities are Soliders Angels, which helps soldiers who are away from home, and Open Arms Mother Teresa Home, which assists individuals and families that are experiencing extraordinary life situations. It also operates a food pantry in Antioch.

"We want to promote our home equity loans, but also to appeal to our customters to contribute to the community," said Karen Kubin, marketing representative.
